Judge Kavanaugh’s Daughters have Become Victims of Institutional #MeToo Attack

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The Political Insider reports that “Democrat lawmakers and unhinged protesters joined efforts in trying to stall the confirmation hearing for Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh, leading to safety concerns for his wife and children.

“Within minutes of the hearing’s onset, Democrats began a coordinated attack to delay or halt proceedings, while their radical base created a mockery of the event by causing disruptions that led to roughly two dozen arrests.”

On July 30, 2018, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) received a letter — sent in confidence to her — about accusations by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, that Kavanaugh allegedly committed sexual assault.  That was almost two months before the hearing that is being experienced today — September 27 —  on national television.

It goes on to say:

“The entire chaotic atmosphere led to Kavanaugh’s daughters, Margaret age 13 and Elizabeth age 10, needing to be escorted out of the room for fear of their safety.”

This was on September 4th, long before any of the charges of sexual assault were publicly levied against Judge Kavanaugh.  Imagine the trauma of it for these girls as it has evolved into the situation it has become today.  They will have to face the abuses and insults that this kind of circus will generate for years to come.  There could have been a different and better way.

In a letter by Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he told Feinstein:

“I am writing to request that you provide me a copy of the letter dated July 30, 2018, that you received from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford containing allegations of sexual assault against Judge Brett Kavanaugh. My staff has made repeated requests for this document—which has become a significant piece of evidence in Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation process—but your staff has so far refused to provide a copy of the letter. You are able to share this unredacted copy with all the members of your caucus and their staff, as well as anyone else you choose. The only version we have of this letter is a redacted version contained in the supplemental FBI background investigation file that only senators and a handful of very select staff are authorized to read,” Grassley wrote in a letter. “Sexual assault allegations deserve serious attention, and those who make such allegations must be heard. They should not be deployed strategically for political gain. You received this letter approximately seven weeks ago.  But the contents of the letter were leaked only last week when it appeared the Senate was about to confirm Judge Kavanaugh.”

Feinstein has accused the media of “leaking” the information about Ford, but who gave the media that information? All indicators point to Feinstein and her staff.  Ostensibly they were the only ones with the information.  In his opening statement today, Sen. Grassley stated remarks clearly directed at Feinstein:

“The Senate Judiciary Committee held its four-day public hearing from September 4 to September 7. Judge Kavanaugh testified for more than 32 hours in public. We held a closed session for members ask sensitive questions on the last evening, which the ranking member did not attend. Judge Kavanaugh answered nearly 1,300 written questions submitted senators after the hearing–more than all prior Supreme Court nominees. Throughout this period, we did not know about the ranking member’s secret evidence. Then, only at an 11th hour, on the eve of Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation vote, did the ranking member refer the allegations to the FBI.”

“The entire chaotic atmosphere led to Kavanaugh’s daughters, Margaret age 13 and Elizabeth age 10, needing to be escorted out of the room for fear of their safety.”

During the testimony today, Ford makes it clear that she has been mistreated by the Democrats, but she is not the only victim.   Sen. Grassley made it clear that this entire process could have been done with discretion and in a more orderly fashion, to benefit Ms. Ford, the Kavanaugh family, and the nation as a whole.  Republicans offered to travel to Ford to get her testimony because of her stated “fear of flying” (it has been found in her testimony that the accuser loves to travel — by plane — to destinations around the world).  All of this could have been revealed earlier to avoid the lynch mob it has evolved to. But instead it appears the actions of the Democrats seem motivated to just delay the process and to prevent a vote on Kavanaugh before the midterm elections.  That was done in order to hold out for a new Senate in the Democrats hope to more profoundly affect the selection of a future Supreme Court juris.  This embarrassing circus that has certainly been injurious to the Judge’s daughters, seems to be done for purely political purposes.  There clearly was a better way available that could have protected these young ladies.  Where are the cries of the media and Democrats in outrage over the disregard of Kavanaugh’s young daughters?
